Germany Ready to Render Assistance to Develop Cooperation with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Germany is ready to offer every assistance to Azerbaijan to develop cooperation between the countries, said Jurgen Zol, the head of Management on Caucasus, Middle Asia and CIS of the German Federal Economic Cooperation and Development Ministry, during an inter-governmental consultation on the development of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany.

The discussions included issues involving the non-oil sector, such as health, agriculture and tourism.

Currently, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany is implemented in two directions: financial and technical. The German KFW bank and the Technical Cooperation Organization offer financial and technical support to Azerbaijan in different fields. To this date, KFW has allocated €144,58mln for the implementation of projects for the reconstruction of Azerbaijani infrastructures, the development of financial and bank sectors, the private sector, the health sphere and many others.

Additionally, GTZ will implement development projects in the private sector, land development, education, agriculture and banking fields, as well as the legal sphere.

Germany has allocated € 44mln to Azerbaijan for the implementation of different projects so far.
