German airline Lufthansa said Thursday it carried a record 56.4 million passengers last year, a 5.6 percent increase over 2006.
The company said a positive marketing environment, increased sales and improved capacity were the major contributing factors to the good performance.
Germany's biggest airline said the load factor for its flights increased 1.8 points to 77 percent.
Lufthansa said its freight subsidiary Cargo carried 1.8 million tons of goods in 2007, a 2.6 percent increase from a year ago. ( Dpa )
