Commission to Devise a new State Regional Social-Economic Development Program to be Formed in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, Baku, 8 February /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Government of Azerbaijan commenced forming a working group and commission to devise a new State Regional Social-Economic Development Program in Azerbaijan, which will cover the period of up to 2015, said the Minister of Economic Development, Heydar Babayev.
This year the realization of the currently active program will conclude, within which 640,000 new jobs were created (of them, 460,000 are permanent). In 2007, 145,000 new workplaces were opened (145,000 permanent). Some 80% of the new jobs fell on the regions and 86% on the private sector.
Last year, 344 enterprises were opened in the sphere of processing, 822 - construction, 759 - agriculture and 1700 in trade and service. Of them, nearly 40% fell on the regions.
