Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 August / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers has approved the conception to reform financing of health system and compulsory medical insurance.
Under the Cabinet's order, the arrangement plan to finance the health system has approved and the compulsory medical insurance has been introduced.
Azerbaijani Health Ministry, State Medical Insurance Agency under the Cabinet and other departments have been charged to implement the arrangements fixed in the plan.
Under the plans, the health and finance ministries are commissioned to appreciate the current health system, as well as to hold a monitoring in the system. Furthermore, the health, finance and labour and social protection ministries were charged to appreciate the current labour payment system.
According to the President decree on Compulsory medical insurance dating 30 December 1999, the State-run Medical Insurance Agency under the Cabinet, as well as health, finance and justice ministries were commissioned to regulate the legal process to reform the health system financing for 2008-2009.
State-run Medical Insurance Agency under the Cabinet, health, finance and justice ministries were commissioned to confirm tariffs, pay medical insurance and provide medical service.
Plan also envisages arrangements to develop regulations to upgrade free-will medical insurance, introduce international standards to attract international experts from the World Bank within the framework of the agreement with International Development Association, as well as to develop and approve the budget project of state-run agency on compulsory insurance.
