Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 August / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / The State Customs Committee reported that 70,229,700 tons of cargo was transported by vehicles in Azerbaijan from January to July 2008, more by 592,22 % compared to the mentioned period in 2007. The cargo export totaled 64,455,400 tons and import - 5,774,300 tons.
Some 355,300 tons of cargo was transported via sea, railway - 12,949 tons, automobile - 398,500 tons, air - 2,300 tons and pipeline - 50,746,400 tons.
Totally 3,905,400 tons of cargo was transported via the territory of Azerbaijan within three months, more by 124,35% or 764,800 tons more compared to 2007
Some 1,091,700 tons of cargo was transported via Azerbaijan to Switzerland, Italy -1,350,800 tons, Georgia - 615,700 tons, Tajikistan - 237,400 tons, Turkey - 143,300 tons, Iran - 156,700 tons, Russia - 102,100 tons, Kazakhstan - 26,100 tons and Turkmenistan- 126,100 tons.
