The Azerbaijani State Railway (ASR) purchased 6 electric locomotives in 2008, head of Locomotive Production Unit Asim Gasimov told the media.
The ASR bought two electric VL-11m/4-series locomotives and four electric VL-8-series locomotives with funds from the public budget.
In 2008, the ASR performed capital repairs on two ER-2-series trains, 5 electric locomotives, 8 diesel locomotives. Three electric ER-2-series trains underwent large-scale repair.
