Azerbaijani Kapital Bank and operator of network of retail sales VISA are designing joint program in an effort to increase share of cashless payments in the country, VISA regional manager for CIS Svetlana Georbelidze said.
"A joint program is being designed together with Kapital Bank to increase volume of cashless payments in the country," Georbelidze said.
She said most of the plastic cards issued by bank account for debit card.
Kapital Bank issued 1.2 million VISA plastic cards during six-year joint work with VISA.
Card base of the bank rose 1.4 times in a year and was 1.88 million debit and credit cards as of March 1. The bank ranks first in the country with a market share of 51 percent in terms of the number of cards issued by the bank. Total turnover on the cards for was 195 million dollars as of March 1 and the turnover of non-cash transactions on bank cards was $4.9 million.
