No A (H1N1) virus found in Azerbaijan: health ministry

No A (H1N1) (swine flu) related case has been found in Azerbaijan, Health Ministry said.

Agriculture Ministry's State Veterinary Service is holding the second monitoring of the virus in the country at the moment.

The previous monitoring held in early May did not reveal virus.

Azerbaijan has banned animal product imports from America and Europe.

As preventive measures, pig farms operate in closed premises. Veterinary services have reinforced work and exercise control over the situation.

According to the World Health Organization, there are 21,940 laboratory-confirmed swine flue cases in 69 countries which include Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Algeria, El Salvador, Estonia , Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela and Vietnam

About 103 of fatal cases account for Mexico, 17 for U.S., 3 Canada and one Costa Rica and Chili each.
