Railways of Azerbaijan joint-stock company has launched the first stage of dismantling the electric railway lines in Zabrat 2 - Gala in the Baku-Absheron direction, spokesman of the company, Nadir Azmammadov, said. The dismantling of this line is scheduled to end in a month.
Presently, a meeting was held to give instructions to employees involved in this work, Azmammedov said.
The process of dismantling the energy supply system and energy equipment began on Aug. 12. The work will be done by stages, including disassembly of railways. A train will move via this line to carry out disassembly.
An automobile road will be built after dismantling, Azmammedov said.
This railway section is dismantled because of low passenger transportation by electric train, making the service unprofitable.
The railway lines and other technical equipments will be dismantled and the suitable materials will be used in other sections of the railway.
The one-lined railway with length of 30 km via Zabrat II-Mashtaga-Baglar-Buzovna-Zugulba-Sahil-Mardakan-Gala will be dismantled by stage. The materials taken after disassembly will be used during the overhaul of two-lined Zazali-Ganja, one-lined Heybat-Bilajary and two-lined Guzdek-bash-Xirdalan railway lines.
