Money transfer to Georgia up

The amount of funds received by Georgia in July 2009 hits $79.4 million or 10.4 percent ($7.5 million) more compared to June and 18.5 percent ($18 million) less than in July 2008, the National Bank of Georgia said.

The reduction of money transfer per year caused by reduction of revenue from Russia to the amount of $20.2 million, i.e. 31.8 percent, the National Bank said.

Money transfer from Armenia also reduced by  $1.8 million (61.1 percent), Great Britain - $0.3 million (32.3 percent), as well as from several other countries.

About 91.6 percent of money transfer fell on nine major donor countries. Their money transfer exceeded $one million in July. They were fixed for the similar period of 2008. About 89 percent of total money transfer fell on them in July 2008.

About $7.1 million was transferred from Georgia abroad in July 2009 compared to $9.2 million, which were fixed during the same period of 2008. Money transfers to Russia reduced $0.8 million, as well as to Ukraine - $0,5 million.
