Azerbaijani Citizen, Ruslan Shabaev has become the 400,000th tourists who visited Adjara this year. At the Batumi airport, he was met by the head of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Levan Varshalomidze and handed the prize - a package for holidays next year at a new fashionable hotel Sheraton, whose construction is completed in Batumi.
Varshalomidze said this year, 400,000 tourists have already visited the autonomous republic, while in 2007, this number was 352,000 people, and the summer season simply failed last year because of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict,.
"We are waiting for an additional 100 000 tourists by the end of the season, and this dynamic growth allows us to assert that in 2012, Ajaria will be visited by two million tourists," said the head of the Adjara government.
