It is high time to actively force all planned projects in the energy industry, said the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Masimov, addressing the expanded meeting of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"Despite that both the industry and energy ministry could cope with the challenges of the last year, including fluctuations in world prices for hydrocarbons, it is impossible to stay on these achievements," said Karim Masimov.

He reminded that there are tasks that the government has already identified for the industry formerly, and now it is time for their concrete implementation. First the head of government mentioned the transport projects.

"All the fundamental understandings and agreements have been reached and funding has been determined for such important projects for the economy as the construction of Beineu-Bozoi-Samsonovka gas pipeline, as well as Yeskene-Kuryk pipeline, and it is now the turn to actively implement them," said Masimov.

To the list of projects that require the accelerated construction, he added petrochemical and bitumen plant in Atyrau, as well as the reconstruction of three refineries in Kazakhstan.

Appealing the heads of national companies, Masimov invited them to conduct a comparative analysis of their activities with those similar companies abroad.

"We need to compare our indicators with other companies, what they and we have performed, what is the technical equipment in order to understand. Whether better or worse, we need comparable data," said the head of government.
