Shuttle business via Iran reduces by 4.46 percent

Over the past 11 months (the year ends on Match 31 in Iran) total amount of Iran's non-oil export, excluding export of gas condensate, made up $18.609 billion, exceeding the similar figure of 11 months of the previous year, the Iranian Customs Administration reported.

In this period export reached 40.969 million tons of different products with a rise of 38 percent in an annual calculation.

With the consideration of gas condensate Iranian export constituted $22.524 billion, with an increase of 4.8 percent compared to similar period of last year.

Total volume of export made up 48.521 million tons, or 33.4 percent more than 11 months of the last year.

In this period 47.317 million tons of products have been imported to Iran in the amount of $49.136 billion - a rise by 18.5 percent.

Gas had the highest special weight in the total amount of Iranian export comprising 4.88 percent, or $908 million in the cost. Export of pistachio, both fresh and refined, amounted to $842.7 million, or 4.53 percent of the total export.

Polyethylene film occupies the third place with its export volume of $811.5 million. Export of liquid polyethylene made up $809 million, methanol $525 million, liquid butane $477 million and carpet products $429 million.

In this period shuttle business via Iran's bordering regions made up $42 million, or 4.46 percent less compared to the same period of the last year. "Shuttlers" exported from Iran 35,600 tons of products, which mirrors its increase by 6.49 percent.

Iraq is Iran's major foreign trade partner, importing Iranian products in the amount of $3.646 billion. Over 11 months 19.64 percent of Iran's non-oil export fell on Iraq. China is in the second place with $2.669 billion and special weight of 14.37 in Iran's total export. It is followed by the United Arab Emirates, which imported Iraqi goods in the amount of $2.409 with the special weight of 12.97 percent. India imported goods with $1.125 billion and Afghanistan $876.48 million.

Petrol occupies major place in Iran's import with the special weight of 9 percent for its cost and 16.13 percent for its volume. Import of iron and steel ingots made up 3.72 percent and 8.2 percent respectively, grains 2.27 percent and 9.3 percent respectively.

Major goods exporters to Iran are the United Arab Emirates with the special weight of 29.42 percent in the country's total import, Germany with 8.46 percent, China with 8.32 percent, Korea with 6.27 percent and Switzerland with 3.85 percent.
