Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover in 2009 amounted to $18,315.3 million. It increased by 3,8 percent compared to 2008. In 2009 Turkmenistan has achieved a positive trade balance in the foreign trade with countries of the world.
According to the Turkmen State Statistical Committee, about 104 world countries (in 2008 - 96 countries) became trade partners of Turkmenistan in 2009. Russia, Iran, Turkey and China took the first four places in total foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan.
The technical production took the major part in import.
