Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) plans to establish a Business Council to organize more intensive contacts between business circles of both countries, Azerbaijani Ambassador to the UAE Elkhan Gahramanov told Trend.

According to the ambassador, at this stage, the Azerbaijani side pays special attention to a number of issues for further development of economic cooperation.

"Our countries have great potential to develop agricultural ties. In Azerbaijan, agriculture is supported by the State and subsidies are provided for the development of this sector. Currently, Azerbaijan provides its domestic market and also exports agricultural products to neighboring countries. We believe that the UAE market will also be favorable for our agro-industrial products. In this regard, we are going to organize agricultural exhibition in the Emirates," the diplomat said.

Favorable conditions have been created between our countries for mutual investments and establishing joint ventures, he said.

"During our meetings with colleagues from the Emirates, the UAE representatives said that they were interested in investing in our country. They invited Azerbaijan to cooperate in this regard. Therefore, in order to attract investments from the Emirates in our country, we are working on organizing an investment forum in Abu Dhabi to make a presentation of economic opportunities in Azerbaijan," Gahramanov said.

According to the ambassador, in addition, there is a need to expand the legal framework to ensure the long-term cooperation, and work is being done on signing a number of projects on economic cooperation.
