Foreign investments in Azerbaijan economy increased by 31.5 percent

Great Britain maintained its leading position in January-August 2010 in terms of investments in Azerbaijani economy. Its weight in the total foreign investments amounted to 45.8 percent, the State Statistics Committee said. British investments hit 505.04 million manat. The total volume of foreign investments increased during the year by 31.5 percent and amounted to 1 103.1 million manat.
Roughly 92.9 percent (1,024.7 million manat) invested in Azerbaijani economy by foreign countries and international organizations in January-August fall to investors from Great Britain, U.S., Japan, Norway, Turkey, Korea and France.
The U.S. investments hit 223.96 million manat (with weight of 20.3 percent), Japanese ones - 117.16 million manat (10.6 percent), Norwegian ones - 72.64 million manat (6.6 percent), Turkish ones - 63 8 million manat (5.8 percent), Korean ones - 21.65 million manat (2 percent), French ones - 20.45 million manat (1,8 percent), Czech ones - 5.07 million manat (0.5 percent), Saudi Arabian ones - 3,36 million manat (0.3 percent), Russian ones - 1,94 million manat (0.2 percent), Austrian ones - 551.800 manat (0 percent), UAE ones - 390.600 manat ( 0 percent).
The Asian Development Bank allocated 12.935 million manat (1,2 percent) to realize the projects in Azerbaijan, Islamic Development Bank - 2.947 million manat (0.3 percent).
