Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec.16 / Trend /
Ernst & Young was last night awarded the 'Accountancy Firm of the Year' at the prestigious Financial Times/mergermarket European M&A Awards.
Ranked number one by volume of deals in Mergermarket's league tables for M&A Accounting advice, judges were impressed by the 224 completed deals with a European target or bidder. Impressive credentials such as 'synergy assessment' on the Kraft/Cadbury deal advice, reinforced Ernst & Young as transaction leaders.
Commenting on the award, Sachin Date, Transaction Advisory Services Markets Leader for Europe, Middles East, India and Africa (EMEIA), said:
"Our reputation as the 'clients' choice' for accounting advice on M&A deals in Europe and our most integrated geographical structure across EMEIA distinguished us from our competitors."
On the M&A market, Date said:
"While the volume of M&A transactions is clearly improving, there remains a significant gap around price expectations between buyers and sellers. We are however seeing the market recover where capital is in place such as in private equity led deals and in the resources industry".
The awards ceremony was held on 9 December 2010 at the Sheraton Park Lane hotel in London.
