The French company "Apur" will draw up a master plan to develop the territory vacated as a result of a project to transfer the railway line outside Tbilisi, according to an agreement signed in Paris, Georgian Railways said.

The company acquired the rights to develop the plan by winning the international tender announced by the Georgian Railways and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on July 8, 2010.

Irakli Ezugbaya, the head of Georgian Railways, told media while visiting Paris that the project consists of two parts - to transfer the infrastructure, already implemented in phases and to devise a development plan of the vacated territory, with "Apur" handling the affairs.

According to Georgian Railways, the railway lines will be removed from the center of Tbilisi by 2013.
