Georgian Poti Port General Director Rony Saab has become the president of the Black and Azov Sea Ports Association. The decision was made today at the thirteenth international conference of representatives of the Black and Azov Sea ports in Poti. It was attended by a delegation of 15 port managements from Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia and Turkey.

According to the conference participants, such meetings contribute to closer cooperation between ports, increased trade turnover, and the development of the TRACECA and Great Silk Road.

"The EU has the relevant funds traditionally allocated for the Black Sea ports. The EU is also interested in the transportation of cargo from the Caspian Sea region to Europe. This can be done only through the Black Sea, so the role of the Black and Azov seas is great," Saab said.
