According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), there were 4,247 payment cards in late January 2011. It exceeds the same index by 0.4 percent in early January and by 5.7 percent in January 2010.
The number of operations during the report period on debit cards totaled 3,170 units. The volume of transactions on debit cards totaled 387 million manat.
About 3,027 transactions worth 4365 million manat were conducted through ATMs, 79,000 operations worth 14 million manat - through POS-terminals.
About 2026,000 transactions totaling $58 million manat were conducted by credit cards in Januray. About 81,000 operations worth 21 million manat were conducted through ATMs, and 22,000 operations worth 11 million manat - through POS-terminals
