Founding meeting of the Association of Azerbaijani businessmen working in Turkey was held Thursday at the Sheraton Hotel in Ankara. Azerbaijan's Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev, the ambassador to Ankara Faig Bagirov and Azeri businessmen working in Turkey attended the meeting, the spokesman of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara Elsevar Salmanov told Trend.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Faig Bagirov said that creation of the association will make an important contribution to the development of ties between the two countries.
A presentation on the aims of founding the association, its tasks and functions was held. It was noted that the goals of the association are to coordinate activities of Azerbaijani businessmen working in Turkey, to encourage new investment, to solve the difficulties of association's members, to represent Azerbaijani entrepreneurs by a single body in their relations with governmental agencies.
After that, discussions were held on the charter of the association, after which the document was unanimously adopted. The meeting also approved the composition of the Managing Board and the inspection commission. Head of the Turkish office of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Seymur Agayev was elected as the Chairman of the Managing Board.
After this, the Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev made a speech, saying that relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are on the increase. The minister expressed confidence that the newly established association will contribute to the development of these relations.
