The Koitendag geological exploration expedition has launched a new phase of appraisal and evaluation work on copper fields in Turkmenistan, the Turkmengeologiya state concern reported.
"Some 2,000 meters have been drilled since early January," the company reported.
Geologists have fulfilled the four-month exploration program ahead of time and are now conducting exploration through drilling. They are also conducting geological evaluation work.
The Koitendag geological exploration expedition has discovered large sandy-gravel mix fields with 10 million tons of reserves and powerful sources of fresh water over the last year.
