Ahmadinejad: Exports to hit $45 billion

The Iranian government plans to increase the volume of non-oil exports by $45 billion during in the current solar year, the IRNA reported quoting President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as saying.

"Export during the last solar year worth $36 billion and thegovernment plans to increase the level by $45 billion," he saidThursday.

Iran is capable to join the world's main exporters, today by increaseof non-oil exports we attempt to enhance the volume to level of oil export in next few years, Ahmadinejad noted.

Head of the Iranian Customs Administration Abbas Memarnejad said earlier that the volume of Iran's exports including gas condensates during the first three months of the current year valued $10 billion compared to last year.

According to the International Monetary Fund, Iran is the third largest country in the Middle East and Central Asia in terms of exports and imports.
