Turkey’s construction sector increases by 10 percent

The construction sector of Turkey increased by 10 percent in 2011, providing employment for 1.91 million people, the Turkey Institute of Statistics told Trend on Friday.

Turkey has sold 450,000 types of real estate in 2011. About 570-580 thousand permits for the construction of residential buildings were issued in the same year.

House prices (purchase and rental) increased by approximately five to six per cent in 2011. There was an increase of between 10 to 15 per cent in the Turkish construction sector and by five to 10 percent in the number of permits issued is the figure expected in 2012 according to the report

The construction sector in Turkey is planning to increase sales by expanding residential projects to ensure the safety of housing in the event of a disaster in 2012.
