Uzbekistan and Germany implement investment projects worth 1 billion euros

Promising directions of Uzbek-German cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed during a meeting of the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Wolfgang Neuen on Tuesday, MFA said on Tuesday.

Promising directions of Uzbek-German cooperation in political, economic, trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed during a meeting of the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany Wolfgang Neuen on Tuesday, MFA said on Tuesday.

The meeting noted the progressive development of bilateral relations over the entire spectrum of cooperation. The sides confirmed their mutual interest in further development of contacts at all levels.

Germany is one of the main trade partners of Uzbekistan in Europe. Investment projects worth over one billion euros are implemented in Uzbekistan together with leading companies of Germany.

The total volume of financial and technical cooperation between the two countries is more than 298.94 million euro.

The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany amounted to $482.9 million in 2010, the mutual trade turnover exceeded $ 560 million in January-November 2011.

Some 114 enterprises established with participation of investors from Germany operate in Uzbekistan, about 50 representatives of German firms and companies are accredited.
