Azerbaijan and the UAE discussed the establishment of joint investment funds and opportunities of investments through funds in other countries' economies, spokesman for the Azerbaijani ministry of economic development Abbas Aliyev said on Tuesday.
On Feb. 14 Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Foreign Minister of the UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Baku.
The sides discussed level of current economic cooperation, prospects for future cooperation and stressed the importance of mutual official visits, signed documents, activities of the intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE for development of the bilateral relations. The sides also exchanged views on opportunities of cooperation in such areas as agriculture, ICT, tourism, alternative and renewable energy sources.
"Investment opportunities of Azerbaijan were also presented at the meeting so that the UAE companies avail themselves of business and investment environment established in our country," Mr Aliyev said.
