Azerbaijan attracted $1.46 billion foreign direct investement (FDI) in 2011 compared to $563 million in 2010, World Investment Report 2012, published by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) says.
According to the report, Azerbaijan's total foreign direct investement in foreign countries in 2011 amounted to $533 million compared to $232 million in 2010. Thus, Azerbaijan regained its pre-crisis performance - in 2008 the country invested $556 million, although the record level - $705 million was achieved in 2006 .
The report says that Azerbaijan's FDI inward stock amounted to $9.11 billion in 2011, while country's FDI outward stock amounted to $6.32 billion.
In recent years, Azerbaijan has invested $6 billion in foreign countries.
