The length of an underground tunnel, which is planned to pave the entire length of the Baku Seaside boulevard, will amount to 4.2 kilometers. The statement was made in the development concept of the Baku Seaside Boulevard up to 2050, the State Committee for Town Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan told Trend on Friday.
According to the project proposal, the 0.9 kilometer long part of the tunnel will run over the ground, and will have an U-shape. The 2.3 kilometers long part of the tunnel will have a box shape, and the remainder will be in the form of an arch.
The state committee reported that the tunnel will have six-lanes (three in one and three in the other direction).
According to the project, during the tunnel construction, pitching will be carried out on area of 0.7 square kilometers, territory filling work - in the volume of six million cubic meters and shore protection work - on over 3.7 kilometers.
The tunnel will be located at a depth of 1.8 to 5.5 meters and will have two exits to Oil workers prospect. It will start in the village of Bail and end in the village of Zikh.
