Azerbaijan announces tender within water users support project

JSC Irrigation and Water Management of Azerbaijan has announced a tender to construct office buildings as part of the World Bank's Water Users Associations Development Support Project (WUAP), the official press reported on Monday.
The tender it for the construction of 34 one-room offices for water user associations in the Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz regions and 38 one-room offices in the Zardab and Agjabadi regions.

Bids are not accepted in electronic form.
The Azerbaijani government and the World Bank signed a loan agreement to allocate $80 million to implement the WUAP project in October 2011. Some $76.8 million of this amount will be provided by the International Development Association (IDA) and $3.2 million by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). With a $34.3 million government contribution the total financing of the project will be $114.3 million.
The project is expected to improve the productivity of 760,000 small scale farmers located in 27 provinces of Azerbaijan thanks to the redevelopment of the country's on-farm irrigation and drainage networks and capacity building activities being supported by new financing from the World Bank.
The official exchange rate is 0.7848 manat to $1 on Nov.19.
