Turkey established 167 companies backed by Azerbaijani capital in 2012

The number of registered companies in Turkey decreased by 27% in 2012 compared to 2011 to 38,800 enterprises, a report from the Union of Chambers of Commerce of Turkey published on its official website on Friday says.

The number of trade enterprises created in 2012 grew by 11.6% and the number of cooperatives decreased by 15.1%.

The total number of businesses closed during the aforementioned period increased by 8.1%, reaching 14,100 companies. The number of abandoned trade enterprises increased by 22.4% and cooperatives by 0.5%.

Compared to November 2012, the total number of registered enterprises increased by 8.4%, reaching 3,300.

In December 2012, the number of closed enterprises increased by 89%, reaching 2,100.
3,700 companies were created in 2012 by foreign investors. Of these, 775 were set up with the participation of Iranian investments, 321 with German investments and 167 with Azerbaijani investments.
