The number of registration transactions in Georgian property market amounted to 30.644 units in January 2013.
According to public registry of Georgia, January 2013 is characterized by growth compared to the same month of 2010-2012. In January 2010, the figure was 20,695 units (a 48.1 percent growth), in 2011 - 26,150 units (17.2 percent growth), in 2012 - 32,412 units ( 5.5 percent decrease) .
The number of registration transactions decreased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month. Decline was recorded in the number of the primary registration transactions (29.3 percent) and secondary registration transactions (5.7 percent). The monthly transaction index was registered at 0.728 compared to the previous month, slightly decreasing compared to the index of the same period of last year (0.738).
Regarding the ratio between primary and secondary transactions, the share of secondary transactions increased significantly compared to the previous month. About 85.7 percent of conducted registration transactions fall to secondary transactions, 14.3 percent - primary transactions (January 2012-76.6 and 23.4 percent, respectively).
