Kazakhstan's national airline Air Astana replenished its fleet with a new Airbus A320 equipped with innovative winglets - sharklets, the company reported.
This aircraft is one of the six Airbuses A320 bought by Air Astana from the Airbus concern. The purchase agreement was signed in 2008 during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to France. Air Astana received the fist Airbus A321under this agreement in November 2012
"Airbus A320 not only allows Air Astana to significantly reduce operating costs, but will also sharply reduce the harmful effects on the environment," president of Air Astana Peter Foster said.
The new airplane will fly to Astana, Aktau, Kiev, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi and other destination within the airline's flights network.
Air Astana is the flag carrier and the national airline of Kazakhstan. It is a joint venture owned by the Government of Kazakhstan (51 percent) and British BAE Systems (49 percent).
