The World Bank (WB) is going to begin developing a new strategy for operating in Azerbaijan by the end of 2013, WB Baku office told Trend on Tuesday.
The term of the current four-year strategy of the World Bank for Azerbaijan terminates in mid-2014 . The new strategy is expected to cover the period from 2015 to 2019.
"Formal negotiations on this matter have not been started yet, but there were general discussions," the Bank declared.
The WB and the Government of Azerbaijan are going to discuss an action plan on the bank's strategy for the remaining year and a half.
Azerbaijan is a member of the World Bank since 1992.
