Turkish contractors start work on Azerbaijan’s five big projects

Turkish contractors started work on five new projects in Azerbaijan from January to July 2013, Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Monday, Haberturk newspaper reported.

"The cost of the projects implemented in Azerbaijan, is estimated at $1.4 billion," the Minister added.

Moreover, Turkish contractors have been working on 33 new projects in Turkmenistan worth $5.6 billion since early 2013. They are also involved in 19 new projects worth $1.4 billion in Russia.

Turkish contractors have been implementing nine projects worth $1.3 billion in Kazakhstan and 31 worth $1 billion in Iraq since early 2013.

Caglayan also said that Turkish contractors worldwide began implementing 154 projects since early 2013 with a total value estimated at $14 billion.

Taking into account these operations, the total number of projects being or have been implemented by Turkish contractors worldwide has reached 7181 at a cost of $253 billion.
