Ministry of Economic Development: Over 88,000 workplaces created in Azerbaijan since early 2013

Some 88,500 workplaces were created in Azerbaijan during January-September 2013, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economic Development told Trend on Friday.

The development of entrepreneurship became one of the priorities of the country's economic policy, the Ministry of Economic Development said.

"The legislation is being improved, the administrative procedures are being simplified and transparent mechanisms are used in order to improve the business climate. Currently, around 426 kinds of electronic services are offered by the state bodies. The development of ASAN Service's activity also contributes to the development of entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan. The events aimed at improving the population's living standards and development of human capital that is defined as the main goal of Azerbaijan's socio-economic development strategy continue," the report said.

The population's income increased by 7.6 per cent in January-September 2013 compared to the same period of 2012 and amounted to 25.4 billion manat. The average salary hit 417 manat, which is by 7.4 per cent more than in January-September 2012.
