Astana, Kazakhstan Nov. 5

By Daniar Mukhtarov - Trend: Transportation of Kazakh grain is to be carried out by national multi-modal operator KTZ Express, the Vice President of KTZ, Kanat Alpysbayev said on Monday at a press briefing.

"The company is already operating. By the end of the year we will start work to provide services for the transportation of grain. Now we are working on a number of Russian export transit routes to China. We can confidently say that by the end of this year we will sign a number of agreements and transport a certain volume," Vice President of KTZ, Kanat Alpysbayev said.

"Our task is to create a chain so that customers have the least problem in contact with the transport area so that customers do not go from one organisation to another and have a single value," he added.

KTZ Express was recently established and will integrate a rail, sea, air and road transport, port and airport infrastructures, as well as a network of logistic centres ensuring the delivery of goods from door to door.

'By late 2013 KTZ Express will transport 200,000 tons of dry cargo including parts for cars and locomotives. Next year we plan to transfer five million tons of cargo through a transit route by the multimodal transport system (single strand, air, land and water). Import transportations of the KTZ Express on route from China and France are being carried out', the KTZ's press release shown at the briefing said.

Such a strategy will create optimal conditions for the transport of cargo from South East Asia to Europe via Kazakhstan on the 'one window'principle, the programme's creators said.

Some 11 Kazakh airports, Aktau seaport and Khorgos-Eastern Gate Special Economic Zone (SEZ) were transferred to the KTZ Express management.

In addition, the multimodal operator will develop its own network of new transport and logistic centres including overseas.
