Azerbaijani life insurance company focuses on 20 percent premium growth in 2014

Azerbaijani life insurance company Atesgah Heyat plans to raise 20 percent more premiums in 2014 than last year, the company told Trend on Wednesday.

The company's fees as of 2013 amounted to 25 million manat, while it was expected to collect 18 million manat.

At present, some 35 percent of Atesgah Heyat's portfolio falls on the type of compulsory insurance for employees against loss of occupational ability as a result of workplace accidents and diseases and 65 percent on voluntary life insurance, according to the company.

The company said an accumulative insurance product is the most popular one in the voluntary insurance segment. The company intends to continue developing products in that area.

Atesgah Heyat insurance company is included in the Atesgah insurance group.

The official exchange rate is 0.7845 AZN/USD on Jan. 8.
