The metallurgy industry and the enterprises on the finished metal productions of Azerbaijan produced goods and rendered services in the amount of 162.6 million AZN in January-May 2014, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said.
The volume of production of the metallurgy industry decreased 10.1 percent, while the production of finished products increased 18.2 percent.
Cast-iron production in the country amounted to 255, 000 tonnes in January-May, which is 69.6 percent lower than the same period in 2013. During the reported period, steel pipes have been made in the amount of 15.400 tonnes, which is 59.4 percent less than in January-May 2013.
The volume of production of reinforcement amounted to 86.700 tons, in the country for the reported period which is 19.9 percent less than the same period last year.
In January-April 2014, the volume of export of iron pipes made up 13,129.9 tonnes (approximately in the amount of $ 12.6 million) which is 51.3 percent less (in monetary terms - 51.7 per cent) compared to the same indicator in 2013.
