Uzbekistan, Russia to discuss stability in Central Asia

Uzbekistan and Russia intend to exchange views on the issues of peace and stability in Central Asia.
During the meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Uzbek President Islam Karimov stressed the need for negotiations on this issue.
President Putin is on one-day visit to Tashkent. The countries' cooperation in oil, gas sector and agriculture will be the main topic of discussion.
President Karimov said during the meeting that it is necessary to exchange views on the situation in Afghanistan, particularly, after the withdrawal of the coalition forces from the country.
President Karimov also said that Russia's interests in Central Asia always had a stabilizing character.
