List of leading foreign trade partners of Azerbaijan slightly changed

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with around 147 countries totaled $28.826 billion in January-November 2014, which is 9.13 percent less than in the same period of 2013, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said in its statistics report.

Azerbaijan's export operations totaled $20.7 billion, while its import operations made $8.1 billion in January-November 2014, according to the report.

The highest amount of the country's export fell to Italy in January-November 2014; some $4.62 billion worth of products (about 22.33 percent of the total export volume) were exported from Azerbaijan to this country.

The following countries are in the lead in terms of exports from Azerbaijan: Indonesia ($2.01 billion with the specific weight of 9.71 percent), Germany ($1.81 billion or 8.74 percent), Israel ($1.52 billion or 7.35 percent) and France ($1.49 billion or 7.19 percent). This list remained unchanged compared to late October.

The share of these countries in Azerbaijan's total export volume is 55.3 percent.

The top 5 countries in terms of the largest import volume in January-November 2014 included Russia ($1.167 billion), which accounts for some 14.39 percent of Azerbaijan's import, Turkey - $1.131 billion (13.94 percent), Great Britain - $863.6 million (10.65 percent), Germany - $625.7 million (7.71 percent) and China - $629.9 million (7.76 percent). In November, China is ahead of Germany in terms of the volume of imports from Azerbaijan.

The specific weight of these countries in Azerbaijan's total import volume is 54.45 percent.

Thus, the main foreign trade partner of Azerbaijan is Italy: the trade turnover with this country made $4.86 billion, or 16.85 percent of the country's total trade operations. Italy is followed by Germany - $2.4 billion (8.45 percent), Indonesia - $2.04 billion (7.09 percent). Russia - $1.77 billion (6.13 percent) and France - $1.6 billion (5.63 percent). This list remained unchanged compared to late October.

The share of these countries in Azerbaijan's total trade turnover is 44.15 percent.
