Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region developing use of renewable energy sources

Kazakhstan’s Kostanay region intends to realize a number of renewable energy projects to reach a significant level of energy saving.

“In 2018, we plan to install 5 windpumps purposed for water extraction from local wells. We can save a lot of money using this kind of technologies,” said deputy head of the "Necklaces of Green Practice" company, Saule Kabidulova.

She added that currently the region saves electric power worth 100,000 tenges each month.

Kabidulova stressed that there are also a lot of inventors in RES (Renewable Energy Sources) technologies among local scientists. One of the regional projects is being implemented by the students of the Kostanay State University on the cultivation of lettuce on the basis of hydroponics.

The companies of the region intend to further introduce alternative sources of energy in new projects.
