Investments in South Kazakhstan increase

Investments in the economy of the South Kazakhstan Region reached 144.2 billion tenges during 10 months of 2017, which is 10.7 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.

The highest amount of investments went to the region’s agriculture, forestry and fisheries, industrial projects, administrative and support services, transportation and warehousing as well as real estate transactions, said the head of the local executive body, Kumar Aksakalov during a meeting dedicated to the social and economic development of the South Kazakhstan Region, the Kazakh media outlets report.

The investments in Kazakhstan’s agriculture amounted to 2,016 billion tenges during 9 months of 2017, and 25 percent of this funding went to South Kazakhstan, according to Aksakalov.

“Industrial production for January-October 2017 increased by 5.2 percent and amounted to 180 billion tenges. Food and machinery production has also increased. There has been a 17.5 percent increase in the mining sector,” said the official.
