Volume of real estate property sales in Turkey up in 2017

In 2017, the volume of real estate properties sold in Turkey grew 5.1 percent compared to 2016, according to a report of the Turkish Statistical Institute.

The report said that 283,906 properties were sold in Istanbul in 2017, which accounts for 16.9 percent of total property sales.

The report said that 150,561 properties were sold in Ankara in 2017, which accounts for 10.7 percent of total property sales.

The remaining 72,400 properties account for the share of other cities of Turkey.

In December 2017 alone, 132,900 properties were sold in Turkey.

In 2017, 22,234 real estate properties were sold to foreigners in Turkey, which is 22.9 percent more than in 2016.
