The "open sky" regime will be introduced on the territory of the three more international airports of Uzbekistan - Andijan, Nukus and Navoi.
This was announced during a video conference held under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the development of the tourism sector on Feb.22.
The "open sky" regime allows foreign airlines to perform international flights to the airport without restrictions on the number of flights.
Furthermore, the president strongly criticized the activity of Uzbekistan Airways in attracting tourists.
He said the air carrier does not conduct efficient work to optimize prices for air tickets, open new flights, expand the possibilities of transit transportation of passengers and the geography of flights.
Mirziyoyev tasked in the near future to introduce modern marketing technologies in the airline's activity, create an opportunity to purchase air tickets through the systems available in leading airports of the world, as well as phones and tablets.
there was reported that within two days after the abolition of visa regime for citizens of Israel by Uzbekistan, tickets for flights to Tashkent were sold out by the end of June. Thus, additional flights should be opened to countries with visa-free regime, as well as direct flights from other states to Bukhara, Samarkand, Urgench, Navoi and Karshi.
