Azerbaijan may adopt the law “On mediation”, Mustafa Abbasbayli, head of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA), told Trend March 6.
He said that the law should be adopted by the Azerbaijani Parliament until the end of 2018.
“We want to use this opportunity to bring the principle and institution of mediation (one of the technologies of pre-trial settlement of disputes) to the insurance market of Azerbaijan,” he said. “Presently, disputes emerge in Azerbaijan, mainly in the insurance market, and their trial proceedings take a long time. We want such disputes to be resolved more quickly and more objectively. This will contribute to the development of the market.”
The AIA was established in December 2006.
The main purpose of the association is to ensure development of Azerbaijan’s insurance market, as well as joint discussion of the problems and prospects of the insurance market.
