Uzbekistan and Belarus may implement joint projects in the light industry, the Embassy of Belarus in Uzbekistan stated on July 16.

The relevant discussions were held within the framework of the visit to Uzbekistan of the delegation of the Belarusian Baranovichi Cotton Production Association JSC headed by General Director Ivan Turchak.

During the visit, the delegation held negotiations in the Uzbek Uztekstilprom association, Uzpakhtasanoat joint-stock company, and State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on investments.

The parties discussed possibilities for implementing joint projects of Belarus and Uzbekistan in the light industry.

On June 12, Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov stated that Belarus is planning to participate in creation of agricultural complexes in Uzbekistan.

“We are ready to share our experience in agriculture and participate in creation of agricultural complexes in meat and dairy sector in Uzbekistan and in processing livestock products through provision of equipment, technologies, as well as supplies of pedigree products and cattle. We are ready to consider joint production of required components and equipment,” Kobyakov said.

He added that Belarus is ready to consider the proposal of the Uzbek side on direct supply of cotton fiber, fresh and processed fruits, vegetables and nuts to Belarus.
