A meeting with the Deputy Minister of Communications, Deputy Secretary of State of Latvia Uldis Reimanis has taken place at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Noting the work of the Turkmen-Latvian transport group, Reimanis made a number of proposals for the further development of transport cooperation, taking into account the development of bilateral multimodal corridors, the message says.
The Turkmen side briefed on the possibilities of implementing joint projects in this direction.
The parties agreed to consolidate joint efforts in the transport sector in order to further expand the trade turnover of both countries, the message says.
Earlier it was reported that opportunities for cooperation on land transit and logistics of routes between Turkmenistan and Latvia are being discussed at a high level in order to develop effective and mutually beneficial solutions for cargo transshipment.
Negotiations are also underway to use the experience of Latvia in this field, in connection with the development of maritime infrastructure in Turkmenistan.
