Ten-month inflation in Uzbekistan exceeds 9%

Prices for consumer goods and services in Uzbekistan in October 2018 increased by an average of 1.3 percent, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

For the first 10 months of this year, inflation in the country was 9.5 percent. Prices for goods on average increased by 1.5 percent, for services – by 0.5 percent.

Compared to the end of 2017, prices for goods on average increased by 9.1 percent, for services – by 10.7 percent.

In January-August 2018, inflation had been gradually decreasing. From September, the inflation rate has been increasing in Year-on-Year comparison and reached 16.3 percent compared to October 2017.

Over the month, food prices rose by 2.3 percent, non-food products – by 0.5 percent, services – by 0.5 percent. Prices for services have seen the most significant growth.
