Iran welcomes any offer to meet the demand of Iran’s civil aviation industry and is ready to buy Sukhoi-100 or any other non-European aircraft, Fars News Agency cited Iran Air CEO Farzaneh Sharafbafi as saying.
Iran Air has a 3 year strategic plan, including privatization of Iran Air, said Farzaneh Sharafbafi.
Referring to the Iran Air program for the modernization of the fleet, she said that Iran Air is seeking to add aircraft such as the Sukhoi 100 or any other non-European aircrafts to its fleet.
“We will consider to purchase aircraft from non-European aircraft manufacturers if they can sell us without an Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) license,” she said.
Referring to her recent visit to Azerbaijan she said that during this trip the development of cooperation and the possibility of the codesharing between Iran Air and Buta Airways Company was assessed.
“We also discussed about handling and the possibility of transit flights through Baku to Europe and the plan was welcomed by the Azerbaijani side. The possibility of alliance was also examined,” Iran Air CEO said.
“Iran will host an AZAL delegation in Tehran as soon as possible,” she said.
