In January-September 2018, 55,448 ships arrived in Turkish ports, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend Nov. 5.
The ministry stated that 29,393 vessels sailing under the flag of Turkey and 26,055 vessels sailing under the flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports during this period.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels during the mentioned period amounted to 614,061,116 tons.
The gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving in Turkish ports under the flag of Turkey amounted to 112,969,295 tons, and the gross registered tonnage of the vessels under the flags of other countries was 501,091,821 tons, the ministry stated.
According to the data of the ministry, in September 2018, 6,107 ships arrived in Turkish ports.
The ministry noted that in September, 3,326 vessels sailing under the flag of Turkey and 2,781 vessels sailing under the flags of other countries arrived in Turkish ports.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels in September 2018 amounted to 65,299,084 tons.
The gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving in Turkish ports under the flag of Turkey amounted to 11,674,150 tons, and the gross registered tonnage of the vessels arriving under the flags of other countries was 53,624,934 tons, the ministry stated.
